Life Out Here

Just a small way to keep my friends and family, who are strewn about the country, in The Know about my life in Seattle.

I survived!

I had my first swimming lesson last night. We practiced floating. Floating on our backs (scary), floating on our fronts (even scarier) and moving while we're floating. There were 4 other adults who were all different levels so we all just kind of did our own thing. The instructors were just there to check on us to make sure we were okay.

The best part was the 2 little high school boys who were giving me tips and hovering over me. I was just waiting for one of them to ask me if I went to Ballard High because they hadn't seen me before.

I also rode my bike up to the pool and back. Not bad. I had to go uphill for about 4 blocks and thought I was going to pass out by the time I reached the street I needed to turn on, but coming home it was all downhill. Wheee!

Steve and I rode our bikes on Sunday, too. It was beautiful here. We went down to Market Street to check out a bed again. We talked to the sales guy and milled around for about an hour. We decided on a style but it has a ledge on the headboard and that would get in the way while sitting up, watching TV. Which we do alot of. Unfortunately. The salesman said they could take the ledge off of the headboard, but it kind of suites the bed. So we decided on another one (they don't have a picture of it) that's very similiar, smaller panels, no ledge. We like the espresso stain, so it will be darker.

Now I'm just babbling....
And that's about it. I'm getting together with Daniela after work. I haven't seen her in over a month. I miss Jonah.

Did you sign up for swim lessons b/c you can "get around", but not really swim well? That's how I am. Just wondering if it's the same for you....

I can swim okay. I just don't like water. I literally fear open water. Pools are better. But I want to take water aerobics so I thought maybe lessons would help me get more comfortable in the water.
