Life Out Here

Just a small way to keep my friends and family, who are strewn about the country, in The Know about my life in Seattle.

Steve and I had a most exciting weekend. We cleaned house. And gave or threw away a ton of crap. Useless, been-holding-on-to-it-because-we-couldn't-bear-to-get-rid-of-it crap. And now my vacuum has a place in the office closet instead of the laundry room where it was crammed between the hot water heater and the washer.

It's the little things that make me happy.

Saturday night, we took a break and babysat Jonah. Jonah was a happy baby for the first hour. We played with anything Jonah could stick his mouth. Then Jonah napped and Steve and I ate thai food. Then Jonah woke up. And Jonah realized that he was not at home. And I was not his mommy. And Steve was not his daddy.

And Jonah cried.
And screamed.
And choked on his spit because he was crying so hard.

(I thought Steve's head was going to spin around and fall off at one point. It was amusing.)

But then Daniela & Sergio came back and Jonah was a happy baby again.

Fascinating. And quite effective birth control.

This week proves to be just as busy for me.
An express manicure tonight so that I have pretty green and blue nails for Seahawk week here at work (And the nails are short now. We had a casualty during cleaning, so I just whacked them all off. It's very sad.)

Tomorrow I have to be at work at 6am to set up for our anniversary celebration breakfast. I spent an hour today sharpening gold pencils specifically for this event.

Then yoga tomorrow night. A friend from work and I signed up for an introductory special at a yoga studio down the street from us. I did yoga a few years ago and really loved it. But then I got vertigo and would fall over frequently during class, so I quit. I think I'm better now. The class is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 - 8:45, so don't expect any updates on those days.

Wednesday I'll be walking with my buddy, then meeting up with a friend who's visiting from out of town. She just moved recently, so I'm excited to hear what she's up to now.

Um, Thursday, another yoga class. But Will & Grace is on too! And it's the last season! The previews showed Grace proposing to someone...I don't know what that's about! And our VCRs (both of them) are broken!! I'll have to have our friend with TiVo tape it.

And plans! Ah, but Saturday, a pre-Superbowl/Birthday/New Year's party. And then Sunday is our Superbowl party!

Yeah, don't expect any updates then either.....

Yea! I love it when you blog! I get to babysit for Lacey Saturday. Let's hope she doesn't scream and cry when she realizes I'm not her mommy! I think Kristin's going to come down and "help" babysit. Pitiful, it takes two of us, isn't it? Actually, she's having Lacey withdrawals, so she just wants to visit. Sorry about your nail mishap, but short blue and green nails will be just as effective. Have fun at your Superbowl party. If my burgundy and gold boys were playing, I'd be having a raging party too. Maybe next year!
