Life Out Here

Just a small way to keep my friends and family, who are strewn about the country, in The Know about my life in Seattle.

Weekend update

Friday night, Steve and wandered down to Lock & Keel. We got a table because there was hardly anyone there, and played for a couple of hours. Then we went over to a new bar on Old Ballard Ave and met up with a co-worker of mine.

Saturday, slept in. That's becoming a trend now-a-days.
I tinkered around the house, then went grocery shopping because Kim-n-Tim were coming over for dinner.

*Side note: I hadn't mentioned it before because Kim was making it public, but now she's too far gone to hide it. She's pregnant. And due in July. Woohoo! Another little one to dote on!

So I attempted to make pan fried won-tons for an appetizer, but that was a disaster. I damn near burned the kitchen down. Horrible. But the rest of the dinner turned out okay and the night was salvaged. We spent the whole time looking through a book of baby names. They don't know if it's a boy or a girl, so they need to come up with both names.

Yesterday, Steve and I walked down to the Salmon Bay Cafe for breakfast. The Ballard Sunday Market was going on, so we gawked at all the fresh produce stands, flower stands, homemade soap stands, etc. Always good people watching. And dog watching. Seattle is very into their pets. The common scene around here is a Subaru Outback wagon, with some dog either in the passenger seat or in the back. Everyone's got a dog. I don't want a dog. I want a cat. But that's a different tangent.

After breakfast we hit some thrift stores, where I acquired the New Black Boots. I can't wait to wear them.

And last night, I cooked dinner and we vegged. Good stuff.

Kristin is adopting a cat - my "grandcat." ;>) She's picking her up this evening. Very exciting!

wow....if she is due in July, she's at least 20 weeks along....even with it being her first (and not showing as much yet), I can't believe she kept it quiet so long!
