Life Out Here

Just a small way to keep my friends and family, who are strewn about the country, in The Know about my life in Seattle.

Weekend Update

I was a this weekend. I think it started with waiting too long to eat Friday night, so I just cranky most of the night. Food helped. And seeing Thornton and Don play with Sandra and Donna was nice. But after we left there, I was cranky again. Dunno why.

Saturday, I got up and went for a walk. I wasn't cranky at this point. There was even a bit of sun out! That afternoon, Steve and I went a memorial service for his grandfather, Roger. I met a lot of relatives, most of whom I had bet at the memorial for Steve's grandmother, Virginia, a few years ago, but failed to actually remember. That evening, I cooked dinner and we played some music (the crankiness was seeping back in at this point). After seeing Thornton play on Friday, I got very motivated to get some originals recorded and get them up on our MySpace page. We didn't record Saturday night, but we went over some songs we haven't played in a while, so it was still productive.

Sunday was not productive at all. I had big plans to clean out some cabinets and reorganize the kitchen because it's just stressin' me out how cluttered it is, but instead I slept until 11am. And I don't mean lounged around half awake in bed until 11am. I mean woke up from a sound, drooling sleep, looked at the clock and thought, Oh shit! It's already 11am?! I think maybe I'm sick. My nose is stuffing up every night, so I'm addicted to Sudafed again. And I just have this constant throbbing headache which I have been attributing to dehydration (that's always a safe bet with me) but I'm drinking a ton of water so I don't think that's the problem.

Anyway, I got out of bed, made some coffee, turned on the Bears/Saints game and then fell asleep on the couch. Yep. Pro.Ductive. I finally dragged us out of the house at 3pm to go get groceries for dinner (and the crankiness came back with a vengence. Too many freakin' people at Fred Meyer and every one of them was In My Way). Steve's aunt Mardie, who was gone over christmas, was coming over to exchange presents and do our ever-so-anticipated-talked-about-it-for-a-year-but-never-got-around-to-it coffee nudge evening. Mmmm coffee nudges. Coffee (we used decaf), brandy, kahlua, creme de cacao (equal shots of each) and topped with whipped creme. I didn't partake in the nudging (sinuses and all) but did force her to watch our videos from last summer's vacations

*To Ma & Pa Miller - we keep meaning to subject you to them too, but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe brunch and movies sometime? You'll like them. We're funny. Ask anyone.

After Mardie left, we crashed. Only to wake up at 3am. My Sudafed wore off, so I had to reload. And Steve was wired from the coffee during the day and the decaf at night (which, yes, still has a smidge of caffeine) and kahlua (also has caffeine). We finally fell back asleep around 5:30am.

So now I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. I'm tired of it. And if I'm really sick, I shouldn't be working around the patients. But it may just be a sinus infection. Either way, it's disrupting my sleep and I will have none of that!

And my massage is this evening. Tomorrow is a Top Secret Bachelorette Project Meeting for a friend who's getting married next month. Wednesday, I clean for Lisa...

Did I mention I'm cleaning again for a friend? I used to clean for her when I had my business and she's gone through a couple of housecleaners since I quit. She can't find one who will simply do what she asks. I don't understand how people can keep clients if they don't do what the people (who are paying them!) ask. Baffling. So I started cleaning for her again, every other Wednesday. Extra money for me, clean house for her. Everyone wins!

So that's Wednesday. Thursday, nothing. TV night. I don't make plans for Thursday. Friday? Hmmm. Not sure. But I bet something will come up.

It's really no wonder why I'm still sick, huh?

I totally missed Thornton and Don playing with Sandra and Donna. Was I in the bathroom?

Steve's comment was funny! ;>) But, if you pause in the right place when you read it, you know exactly what you meant.
Sometimes you're cranky for no reason. That's just the way it is. But if you don't feel well, that's a good reason to be cranky. Do you take a multi-vitamin?
I bet if you start organizing in your kitchen you will feel better. I just started in my walk-in-closet in my bedroom. Kristin told me a couple weeks ago that I need "serious organizational help" (after she said "What the hell happened in here?"). I kept procrastinating b/c I never have enough time to do it all, so I decided to do it in chunks and it's working. My first Chunk was the shelves with my sweaters. Looks great now and I donated 2 bags of sweaters. The next Chunk was the shoes. I can walk in my closet now and donated 22 pairs of shoes! The next Chunk will be the hanging clothes. Scary thought.
Anyway, that turned into a ramble. Sorry. Hope you feel better.
