Life Out Here

Just a small way to keep my friends and family, who are strewn about the country, in The Know about my life in Seattle.

Cleaning, Drag Racing and Impromtu Dinners...

Last Friday evening was very quiet and relaxing. I cleaned, finally. Just the upstairs. Okay, just the bathroom and the bedroom. I never made it to the rest of the house. Hard to believe I used to do this for a living....

Saturday, Steve and I went down to Pacific Raceways in Auburn (about an hour away) to watch our friend Jesse race his motocycle. It was a lot more fun than I expected. Jesse is 6'7" or so and he has to crouch down so that his knees are up under his chin. Height is not an advantage in this sport. Then after the races, they had drag racing! Which was very cool. I never gave drag racing a thought but it was exciting. We saw a couple of cars get up to 170mph! I kept thinking of mom, speed demon that she is.

After that, we stopped by the SuperMall on our way home! I had forgotten it was down that way. I'd been wanting to go for a while because they have a Bass Outlet store and my most favorite khakis are from there. I literally squealed when we drove by it. So I did some shopping, got some more pants, a few tshirts. Nothing major.

That night, I tried to figure out how to get Quicken converted over, but got frustrated and finally gave up at 1am. The computer is not my friend right now.

Sunday, Kim picked me up at 10:30am and we shopped all day. Ikea, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Office Depot.....And during our shopping, I kept getting phone calls from friends about our friend Erin being in town, and plans were forming to meet up at a bar that evening. So, being the nice girl that I am, I said we could all just hang out at our place! "Hanging out" turned into dinner and dessert for 6 people and I finally got to bed at midnight. I'm not complaining. Really. I love having people over and cooking for everyone. And I made a peach/cranraisin dessert that goes over angel food cake that was wonderful....and only 1 pt on Weight Watchers!

Yes, I was inspired by Kristin's blog entry about losing 10lbs recently. And I looked through the bachelorette party pictures and was absolutely appalled at my bulging belly. Apparently, in the midst of all the partying, I forgot to suck in my gut while dancing around.

Not pretty.
Not pretty at all.

But I got good teeth. What more can you ask for?
