Life Out Here

Just a small way to keep my friends and family, who are strewn about the country, in The Know about my life in Seattle.

Ruby's Ouchie

Someone hit Ruby this evening. She's parked on the street, just like every night, and I was in the bedroom, packing. I heard a "THUD" and thought "What the hell?" I looked out the window and didn't see anything, but I saw Ruby's antenna moving.

I ran downstairs and saw her ouchie. There were no cars around so I don't know what happened. Steve suggested I call the police to get a report for the insurance company, so I did and an officer came out. Oddly enough, I had seen a few police cars prowling the neighborhood a bit earlier, with their lights on. Steve asked the officer if there was something else going on and he said they had pulled over a car that was driving erratically. A white car.

He said it's probably not the same car, but he would go look for red paint on it. They still had it pulled over down the street. He said he'd come back if it was the same car, and since he hasn't been back, I'm guessing that wasn't the car.

So tomorrow I have deal with the insurance junk. I'm not sure what I'll have to do, but this is not what I need right now.

At least Ruby isn't too badly damaged. Just a little denting.
