Life Out Here

A Slight Rant...

I decided to splurge this week and get a manicure. Or a pedicure. I couldn't decide. I like to get manicures before I go on vacation and get my nails painted red because I'm not allowed to have red nails at work (so I'm told by only by my boss and I don't argue with her). But I'd like a pedicure too because while we're in Texas I'll be in my chacos the whole time and I want my toes to look pretty.

So I logged on to Habitude's website to read the descriptions, again, hoping that would help the decision. Well lo' and behold, they now have an Express Manicure and Pedicure Package! No massage or soaks, just beautifying. And at half the price of getting one of each! The only downside is that they will only paint your fingers or your toes. Not both. So I still haven't decided which I’ll get painted.

So anyway.....when I went to get my little coupon out of my wallet, from my last visit ($10 off if I get an appointment with the same girl) I found my punch card. I have a Habitude punchcard. If I get 11 manicures, I get the 12th free! Same with pedicures. Sounds exciting, huh?

This kind of crap irratates me.
My manicures are about $32. Then you add the $5 tip, and we’re at $37. That means if I spend $444 on getting my nails done, I get to save $32. Whoopee. Who are they fooling? Plenty of people I’m sure. And yes, when that 12th one rolls around and it’s free, that’s really great. But it would take me two years to get 11 manicures. I think this will be my 3rd one of 2006.

That’s the extent of my day.
Whew, I’m exhausted.....

Habitude's prices have really gone up since I was there - $444 to get your nails painted!!!! Nope, not helping with your expenses for your trip to Texas . . . . . .

Too late! You already agreed! And I don't think I'm anywhere near $444. Probably more like $230.
